High Desert Amateur Radio Club, Inc (HDARC) is very active in the community. We believe in community outreach. Here are three of the many events in which we have participated! Click on the links to find out more about the specific events.
Also, see Hamming Around New Mexico for more of the Club's adventures & escapades in New Mexico!

For several years, HDARC has been invited to participate in the annual open house at Space Port America down near Truth or Consequences, NM.

Duke City Ham Fest (no link)
HDARC participates in the Duke City Hamfest, New Mexico's premier amateur radio event, which supports the amateur radio community in New Mexico, Colorado, Wyoming, Utah, Arizona, Oklahoma, Texas, Nevada & Mexico. HDARC supports the festival with members in attendance and volunteers manning booths & making presentations during the three Hamfest days.

For 2 yrs, HDARC has been invited to help the Navajo Nation celebrate National Code Talkers Day on Aug 14th. This day celebrates & honors the contributions of the Native Americans who brought their unique abilities to the World War II effort.

A couple of times a year, NM HDARC is invited to attend & set up an amateur radio display at the National Museum of Nuclear Science and History as part of the STEAM program.

Field Day is Amateur Radio’s largest annual open house & emergency preparedness exercise. It is held 2 times a year, the fourth weekend of June and the last weekend in January. At these times, HDARC members set up temporary, off-grid stations at various locations to contact as many other stations as possible, showcasing the hobby to the public.

This is a random collection of photos taken by High Desert (HDARC) members at various events. Our members love to take photos!
